2025 SEASON
A BREAKTHROUGH YEAR
The 2025 season marked an important step forward in Luca Hopkins' racing career as he continued competing in the AJN Steelstock Kawasaki British Superteen Championship.
After several seasons developing through the British Talent Cup and British Superteen categories, Luca entered the year looking to establish himself among one of the most competitive junior grids in British motorcycle racing.
The season brought new challenges, opportunities and milestones, with Luca progressing from consistent top-ten finishes early in the year to securing his first British championship podium at Snetterton and finishing the season as a genuine front-running contender.
AJN STEELSTOCK KAWASAKI BRITISH SUPERTEEN CHAMPIONSHIP
Luca began the 2025 campaign with Symcirrus Motorsport, competing in the AJN Steelstock Kawasaki British Superteen Championship aboard Kawasaki machinery.
The championship featured some of the UK's most talented young riders, racing at iconic circuits including Oulton Park, Donington Park, Snetterton, Knockhill and Brands Hatch as part of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship package.
The opening rounds saw Luca steadily build momentum. At the opening round at Oulton Park, he secured two top-ten finishes before taking a significant step forward at Donington Park, where he qualified eighth and delivered a fourth-place finish in Race 2.
FINDING FRONT RUNNING PACE
The breakthrough arrived at Snetterton.
After qualifying fourth on the grid, Luca secured his first British Superteen podium with a third-place finish in Race 1, confirming the progress made through the opening rounds of the season.
The result was a major milestone in Luca's development, proving he had the pace to compete alongside the leading riders in the championship.
The weekend moved Luca up to seventh in the championship standings and marked the point where he began to establish himself as a regular presence towards the sharp end of the field.
BUILDING MOMENTUM
The remainder of the season provided further opportunities to develop and gain experience.
At Knockhill, Luca continued to compete inside the leading group despite challenging conditions, while the Donington Park WorldSBK support event gave him the opportunity to race in front of a much larger audience.
Following that weekend, Luca continued to show strong pace at Brands Hatch and Donington Park GP, regularly qualifying inside the top ten and securing another fifth-place finish at Donington in September.
EXPANDING HIS EXPERIENCE
Away from the British Superteen Championship, Luca also took the opportunity to experience different machinery during the season with a guest appearance in the ROKiT OFF BMW F 900 R Cup at Thruxton.
Competing with Track Dudes, Luca adapted to the larger BMW F 900 R and finished 11th in his Heat Race before taking 17th in the Main Race.
The weekend provided valuable experience racing a different motorcycle and competing against a new group of riders.
SEASON SUMMARY
The 2025 season represented a significant step forward for Luca.
From learning and building confidence at the start of the year, he progressed into a rider capable of challenging at the front of the championship, securing his first British championship podium and ending the season with valuable momentum heading into 2026.
Luca finished the AJN Steelstock Kawasaki British Superteen Championship 10th overall with 120 points, recording:
1 podium finish
5 top-five finishes
10 top-ten finishes
15 races contested
The experience gained throughout 2025 laid the foundations for Luca's move into the 1pMobile National Junior Sportbike Championship with Team SBR in 2026.
