2026 SEASON
A NEW CHAPTER
The 2026 season marks an exciting new chapter in Luca Hopkins' racing career as he joins Team SBR powered by DKS Directional Drilling to compete in the 1pMobile National Junior Sportbike Championship.
Having progressed through the British Talent Cup and British Superteen Championship, Luca entered the season ready for a fresh challenge against some of Britain's brightest young motorcycle racers. Competing aboard the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR, the move represented another important step in his development, providing the opportunity to work within one of the championship's most respected teams while continuing to build experience at the highest level of junior racing.
The season has already delivered plenty of memorable moments, including multiple podium finishes, a class lap record at Brands Hatch and a genuine challenge towards the front of the championship standings. With several rounds still remaining, there is plenty more to come as Luca continues his progression throughout the second half of the season.
TEAM SBR
For 2026, Luca joined Team SBR powered by DKS Directional Drilling, a team with an outstanding reputation for developing young riders and competing at the front of British motorcycle racing.
The team is owned and managed by Steve Brogan, whose racing career spanned more than two decades.
A former National Superstock 1000 Champion and British Superbike EVO Champion, Steve also competed in British Supersport, Superbikes, European Superstock and World Supersport, building an enormous wealth of knowledge and experience along the way. Today, that experience is passed on to the next generation through Team SBR, with rider development sitting at the heart of everything the team does.
Luca races alongside teammate Isaac Mark, with both riders benefitting from Steve's coaching, technical expertise and race-winning experience throughout every race weekend.
Supported by title partner DKS Directional Drilling, the team provides a professional environment where every detail is focused on helping its riders maximise their potential on track.
THE CHAMPIONSHIP
The 1pMobile National Junior Sportbike Championship forms part of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship package, giving young riders the opportunity to compete on the UK's biggest domestic motorcycle racing stage.
The championship features production-based middleweight sports bikes, with the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R and ZX-4RR, Yamaha YZF-R7 and Kove 450RR Pro all eligible to compete. While the machinery varies between manufacturers, the racing remains incredibly close, rewarding consistency, racecraft and confidence just as much as outright speed.
With race weekends held at many of Britain's premier circuits, every round consists of practice, qualifying and multiple races, providing invaluable experience for young riders looking to progress through the sport.
2026 RACE CALENDAR
The 2026 season takes Luca to some of the UK's most iconic racing circuits as part of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship package.
From the opening round at Oulton Park in May to the season finale at Donington Park GP in October, every weekend provides another opportunity to learn, develop and compete at the front of the field.
