ABOUT LUCA HOPKINS
A PASSION FOR MOTORCYCLE RACING
Motorsport has been a huge part of Luca Hopkins' life from an early age. Since making the step into national championship racing, he has steadily progressed through some of Britain's most competitive junior motorcycle championships, earning a reputation as a determined, hard-working rider who is always looking to improve.
Now competing in the 1pMobile National Junior Sportbike Championship with Team SBR powered by DKS Drilling, Luca continues to build on the experience gained throughout his career. Away from the circuit, he works as an instructor with Track Dudes, helping riders develop their confidence and ability on track, while also balancing his racing commitments with his role at Target Power Generators.
Like many riders competing at national level, Luca's racing programme is largely self-funded and made possible through his own commitment alongside the invaluable support of his sponsors and partners. When he's not racing, you'll often find him riding motocross or spending time with family and friends. His personal logo, featuring two dogs, is a tribute to his own dogs and reflects the support network that has played such an important role throughout his journey.
2026 SEASON
1pMobile National Junior Sportbike Championship
Team SBR powered by DKS Drilling
The 2026 season marked another important step in Luca's racing career as he joined Team SBR powered by DKS Drilling to contest the 1pMobile National Junior Sportbike Championship aboard the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR.
The move immediately proved to be a successful one, with Luca establishing himself as a regular front-runner. A string of podium finishes and consistently competitive performances saw him firmly establish himself among the championship contenders, while continuing to develop his racecraft and experience at some of Britain's most iconic circuits.
2025 SEASON
AJN Steelstock Kawasaki British Superteen Championship
Symcirrus Motorsport / Track Dudes, MasterMac Surfacing & Fortis Racing
The 2025 season proved to be one of resilience as much as progression. After beginning the year with Symcirrus Motorsport in the AJN Steelstock Kawasaki British Superteen Championship, Luca and the team parted company following the Knockhill round.
Rather than allowing the setback to define the season, Luca continued his campaign with the support of Track Dudes, MasterMac Surfacing and Fortis Racing. The decision paid off as he produced the strongest performances of his career to date, securing his first British Championship podium with an outstanding third-place finish at Snetterton before ending the year tenth overall in the championship.
Alongside his Superteen campaign, Luca also made a guest appearance in the ROKiT OFF BMW F 900 R Cup at Thruxton with Track Dudes, gaining valuable experience on a completely different machine.
2024 SEASON
Tracker Kawasaki British Superteen Championship
Chris Walker Kawasaki
A move into the Tracker Kawasaki British Superteen Championship brought a fresh challenge and another important step up the racing ladder.
Competing with Chris Walker Kawasaki, Luca adapted well to the highly competitive class, continuing to build both confidence and consistency throughout the season.
He finished 15th overall in the championship, with a season-best result of tenth place at Snetterton, laying solid foundations for the years ahead.
2023 SEASON
British Talent Cup
Barnsdale Leisure / SP125 Racing
Results didn't always reflect the effort during a difficult 2023 campaign, but the season provided valuable lessons in one of the most competitive junior championships in the country.
Although championship points proved elusive, Luca continued to develop as a rider throughout the year, gaining experience against some of Britain's brightest young talents. His best finish came at Oulton Park in September, where he crossed the line in 19th place.
2022 SEASON
British Talent Cup
Barnsdale Leisure / SP125 Racing
Returning for his second season in the British Talent Cup, Luca showed encouraging progress across the year.
As his confidence and experience grew, so did his performances, culminating in a career-best ninth-place finish at Donington Park National.
He completed the season 21st in the championship, but the improvements made throughout the year demonstrated his continued development and determination to move forward.
2021 SEASON
British Talent Cup
Wilson Racing
Luca's first season in the British Talent Cup came with Wilson Racing, marking his debut at national championship level.
Competing against the country's best young motorcycle racers represented a significant learning experience and the beginning of his journey through British circuit racing.
He finished the championship 21st overall, with a best result of 12th place at Knockhill, providing an encouraging platform to build upon in the seasons that followed.
